Joanna Bednarkiewicz

Zajmuję się malarstwem, fotografią, rysunkiem i projektowaniem graficznym, jestem absolwentką Warszawskiej Akademii Sztuk Pięknych, Wydziału Konserwacji Malarstwa i Wydziału Malarstwa. W swoich pracach koncentruję się na studiowaniu natury: jej struktur, rytmów i faktur. Moim głównym obszarem zainteresowań są roślinne i wodne struktury.  Obserwuję relację między światłem i kolorem w powtarzających się rytmach przyrody. Malując obrazy wykorzystuję technikę używaną w konserwacji malarstwa tzw. tratteggio. Drobne kreski stawiane koło siebie tworzą rodzaj laserunku, łączą kolory w delikatny i nieoczywisty sposób.
Swoje prace – jako gotowe obiekty – dopasowuję do zastanej przestrzeni w ogrodzie, na plaży czy na łące. Obserwuję relację między namalowanym obrazem natury a naturą. Projekty te nadają nowy kontekst obrazom i pozwalają osadzić je w konkretnej przestrzeni.

I deal with painting, photography, drawing and graphic design; a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Art at both the Faculty of Conservation and Restoration of Works of Art and the Faculty of Painting. In my works, I concentrate on studying nature, its structures, rhythms and textures. The main field of my interests are floral and water structures; I endeavour to observe the relations between light and colour in the ever-repeating rhythms of nature. In my paintings, I use the “tragetti” technique, used for restoration of arts. The frail lines juxtaposed together form a glaze-like surface, linking colours in a delicate and unexpected manner.
I stage my completed works in selected areas in a garden, a meadow or a sandy beach to observe the intricate relations between the representation of nature and the nature itself. Those installations, by setting up the works in a defined space, put them in a new context.
